Beauprea congesta is an endemic shrub from New Caledonia, restricted to the summits of two massifs in the south of Grande Terre : Kouakoué and Humboldt massifs. It occurs in scrubland on ultramafic soil at an altitude range of 1,500 and 1,600 m asl. Known from 2 localities, its Extent of Occurrence (EOO) and Area of Occupancy (AOO) are 20 and 25 km², respectively. It is not threatened at the moment, but as it occurs in few localities at high altitudes, it could be impacted by climate change in the future. Therefore, Beauprea congesta is precautionarily listed as Near Threatened, approaching the threshold for VU under criterion D2.

The population size is not known.
Habitat
Beauprea congesta occurs in scrubland on ultramafic soil at an altitude range of 1,500 and 1,600 m asl.
Threats
No threat is known to this day. However, Beauprea congesta could very well be impacted by climate change in the future, since it only occurs in high altitudes.
Conservation
Beauprea congesta is protected by legislation in Province Sud and Province Nord and it occurs in three protected areas: Massif du Kouakoué, Mont Humboldt, Côte Oubliée.
