Dutaillopsis gordonii is a shrub or tree restricted to the area of Rivière Bleue on Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It is found in dense lowland humid forest on an ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 150-200 m asl. This species does not seem directly threatened especially because it is included in a protected area. However, habitat degradation by invasive species (Feral pigs) are plausible in the near future. Its area of occupancy (AOO) being estimated to 8 km², Dutaillopsis gordonii is proposed as Vulnerable (VU) using criteria D2.

Population size is unknown. Individuals are scattered.
Habitat

This species does not seem directly threatened especially because it is included in a protected area. However, habitat degradation by invasive species (Feral pigs) are plausible in the near future.
Conservation
Dutaillopsis gordonii is not legally protected in province Sud (but it is in province Nord) and it occurs in one protected area: parc provincial de la Rivière Bleue.
