Acropogon francii is an endemic small tree of the south part of Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It is found in dense humid forest on an ultramafic substrate at an altitude of 150-1,200 m asl. This species does not seem directly threatened. A. francii is considered Least Concern (LC).

Conservation


Protected species by legislation in Province Nord but not in Province Sud, A. dzumacensis is also found in several protected areas : réserve naturelle du Massif du Kouakoué, réserve naturelle de la Haute-Pourina, Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue.
