Grevillea gillivrayi, commonly known as "Rince-bouteille commun", is a shrub or tree growing up to 10 m high endemic from New Caledonia. It is distributed in the south (from Goro to Tontouta) and in the south east (from Port Bouquet to Basse Monéo) of the Grande Terre, as well as in Ile des Pins. It occurs in open scrubland on ultramafic soil up to 1,140 m asl. Some subpopulations may be impacted by uncontrolled bushfires (Poro, Kouaoua, Dumbéa, Païta, Boulouparis, Thio, Bogota) and mining activities in the south (Goro, Vulcain, Tontouta) and south east (Poro, Kouaoua, Thio, Camp des Sapins, Nakéty, Ouinné, Cap Bocage). However Grevillea gillivrayi is very common and it does not seem to be threatened. Therefore with an Area of Occupancy (AOO) and an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) equal to 924 and 7,313 km², respectively, Grevillea gillivrayi is not thought to approach the requirements for listing as threatened. It is listed as Least Concern (LC).
