Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 22/03/2023Crossostylis grandiflora, locally known as "mountain mangrove" is an endemic shrub or tree from New Caledonia, where it has wide distribution across Grande Terre. It occurs in riparian areas or on the edge of the river up to 600 m asl. This species is very common and it does not seem to be threatened. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated at 13,969 and 364 km², respectively. Therefore, C. grandiflora is listed as Least Concern (LC).

Crossostylis grandiflora is endemic to New Caledonia where it has wide distribution across the Grande Terre.
Population
Population size is unknown, but field observations indicate that this species is very common.
Habitat
This species occurs in riparian areas or at the edge of the river up to 600 m asl.
Threats
This species is very common and it does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
Crossostylis grandiflora is unprotected by legislation in New Caledonia but it occurs in numerous protected areas: Parc des Grandes Fougères, Vallée de la Thy, Haute Yaté, la Dumbéa, Montagne des sources, Mont Mou, Mont Panié, Rivière bleue, Cap N'dua, Côte Oubliée, Haute Dumbéa.
