Thiollierea macrophylla is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia, widespread from Houaïlou in the North to Yaté : Gouemba in the south of Grande Terre. It occurs in shrubland, dense humid forest or on rocky scree on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range of 50-980 m asl. This species does not seem globally threatened. Thiollierea macrophylla is considered Least Concern (LC).

Population size is unknown.
Habitat
Thiollierea macrophylla occurs in shrubland, dense humid forest or on rocky scree on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range of 50-980 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened. Some subpopulations may be locally threatened by mining activities, e.g. Poro, Nakéty, Vulcain, Kouaoua, Thio Plateau.
Conservation
Thiollierea macrophylla occurs in five protected areas : Barrage de Yaté, Mont Humboldt, Massif du Kouakoué, Haute Dumbéa, la Dumbéa.
