It is found in humid forest on various substrates at an altitudinal range 30-800 m asl. This species is largely distributed and does not seem directly threatened. Pycnandra gordoniifolia is considered Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Pycnandra gordoniifolia is largely distributed across Grande Terre in New Caledonia, from Poami to Port Boisé.
Population
This species is quite common. It is known from 20-25 sub-populations.
Habitat
Pycnandra gordoniifolia is found in humid forest on various substrate at an altitudinal range 30-800 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened. One subpopulation may be threatened by mining activities: Plateau (SLN)
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, P. gordoniifolia occurs in one protected area: Foret Nord.
