Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 09/12/2016Polyscias bracteata ssp. subincisa is an endemic small tree of New Caledonia restricted in the north west of Grande Terre, as well as in Belep islands. It occurs in shrubland, low forest and and degraded forest at low and mid altitude (20 - 700 m asl), mainly on ultramafic substrates. This species is common and does not seem directly threatened although some subpopulations may be impacted by the mining activity (in Tiébaghi) and bushfires. Polyscias bracteata ssp. subincisa is considered Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Polyscias bracteata ssp. subincisa is an endemic small tree of New Caledonia spread in the north-west part of Grande Terre and in Belep islands.
Population
This subspecies is common.
Habitat
It occurs in shrubland, low forest and degraded vegetation at low and mid altitude (20 - 700 m asl) essentially on ultramafic substrate.
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened, although some subpopulations may be impacted by the mining activity (in Tiébaghi) and bushfires.
Conservation
Polyscias bracteata ssp. subincisa is not protected by local legislation. It does not occur in any protected area.
