Plerandra gordonii is an endemic tree of New Caledonia widespread on the massif du Sud of Grande Terre. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 1,900 km², an area of occupancy (AOO) of 120 km², and approximately 26 known subpopulations, some of which occur within a protected area, and apparently no threats resulting in continuing decline, Plerandra gordonii is assigned a status of Least Concern (LC).

Population size is unknown.
Habitat
Plerandra gordonii is found in dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate.
Threats
The main threats come from habitat degradation due to uncontrolled fire and mining activities. However, these threats do not seem to impact broadly this species.
Conservation
Plerandra gordonii is not protected by local legislation. It occurs in two protected areas (Réserve intégrale de la Montagne des Sources, parc de la Rivière Bleue).Dense humid forests are a patrimonial ecosystem protected by the Code de l'Environnement of Province Sud.
