Oxera pulchella is a slender or robust liana endemic to New Caledonia, distributed from the center to the north of Grande Terre and the Belep islands. It is quite common and occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate from 400 to 950 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are 2,126 and 72 km², respectively. Oxera pulchella does not seem threathened and therefore is listed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Oxera pulchella is endemic to New Caledonia. It is distributed from the central to the northern part of Grande Terre and the Belep islands.
Population
Population size is unknown, but field observations show that Oxera pulchella is quite abundant in forests.
Habitat
Oxera pulchella occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate from 400 to 950 m asl.
Threats
This taxon does not seem to be threatened at the moment, although some subpopulations may be impacted by fires (Belep islands).
Conservation
This taxon is not protected by any legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected areas.
