Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 10/05/2016Pycnandra sessiliflora is an endemic tree distributed discontinuously on Grande Terre in New Caledonia, from Massif du Tchingou to Poya in the North and Col Petchicara to Forêt Nord in the South. It is found in humid forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 150-870 m asl. This species is largely distributed and does not seem directly threatened. Pycnandra sessiliflora is considered Least Concern (LC).

Population
This species is quite common. It is known from thirteen sub-populations.
Habitat
Pycnandra sessiliflora is found in humid forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 150-870 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened.
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, Pycnandra sessiliflora occurs in four protected areas : Montagne des sources, Haute Yaté, Foret Nord, Rivière bleue.
