Although the extent of occurrence for this species falls within the threshold for Vulnerable, no decline has been observed. In addition the total population is estimated to be more than 10,000. As it does not qualify for any of the threatened categories it is therefore listed as Least Concern.
Geographical area
This species is widely distributed in New Caledonia from the Riviere Bleu in the south to Mt. Homedeboa in the north. It occurs from 10 to 950 m asl.
Population
A relatively common and widespread species.
Habitat
Occurs in maquis vegetation.
Threats
There are no current threats to this species.
Conservation
The species has been recorded from various protected areas.
