Alyxia oubatchensis is a big and robust liana endemic to New Caledonia distributed in the east of Grande Terre. It is present from Nakada massif to Mandjélia. This species occurs in dense humid forest on volcano sedimentary substrate between 400 and 1,300 m asl. This species is probably undercollected and may have a wider range of distribution than the actual distribution. Therefore, with an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) estimated to be 3,156 km² and an Area of ocupancy (AOO) of 56 km², Alyxia oubatchensis does not meet the requirements for a threatened species and is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Alyxia oubatchensis is endemic to New Caledonia where it is distributed in the north east of Grande Terre. It is present from Nakada massif to Mandjélia.
Population
The population size is unknown.
Habitat
Alyxia oubatchensis occurs in dense humid forest on volcano sedimentary substrate between 400 and 1,300 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened.
Conservation
Alyxia oubatchensis is protected by legislation in Province Nord and it does not occurs in any protected areas.
