Alyxia oubatchensis is a big and robust liana endemic of New Caledonia distributed in the east of Grande Terre. It is present from Nakada massif at the southern limit to Mandjélia at the northern limit. This species occurs in dense humid forest on volcano sedimentary substrate at an altitude range of 400-1,300 m asl. This species is probably undercollected and may have a wider range of distribution than the actual distribution. Therefore, with an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) ranges between 3000 km² and 10,000 km² and an Area of ocupancy (AOO) between 50 km² and 1,000 km², Alyxia oubatchensis does not meet the requirements for a threatened species and is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Alyxia oubatchensis is endemic to New Caledonia where it is distributed in the north east of Grande Terre. It is present from Nakada massif at the southern limit to Mandjélia at the upper limit.
Population
The population size is unknown.
Habitat
Alyxia oubatchensis occurs in dense humid forest on volcano sedimentary substrate at an altitude range of 400-1,300 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened.
Conservation
Alyxia oubatchensis is protected by legislation in Province Nord and it does not occurs in any protected areas.
