Plerandra gabriellae is an endemic, widespread tree in New Caledonia (Grande Terre, Lifou, Maré).With an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 36,000 km², an area of occupancy (AOO) of 666 km², over 50 known subpopulations, some of which occur within a protected area (Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue, Réserve naturelle de la Vallée de la Thy, Parc des grandes fougères) and an increasing population due to its success in degraded habitat, Plerandra gabriellae is assigned a status of Least Concern (LC).

There are no obvious threats.

Conservation


Plerandra gabriellae occurs in some protected areas (Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue, Réserve naturelle de la Vallée de la Thy, Parc des grandes fougères). Dense humid forests are a patrimonial ecosystem protected by the Code de l'Environnement of Province Sud.
