in Southern Province , in Northern ProvincePandanus globatus is an endemic tree of New Caledonia restricted to the center and north east of Grande Terre. It is found in dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 900-1,450 m asl. Main threats identified are the on-going mining activities of Kouakoua (SLN) and potential impacts from the mining activities of Boulinda and Tchingou. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are respectively estimated to be of 1,222 and 20 km² with an estimation of five locations Pandanus globatus is therefore assessed as Endangered (EN) with criteria B1ab(i,ii,iii,v)+2ab(i,ii,iii,v) with a continuing decline of all the concerned sub-criteria.

Pandanus globatus is an endemic tree restricted to the center and north-east of Grande Terre in New Caledonia.

Conservation
Pandanus globatus is protected by legislation in Province Nord and in Province Sud. It does not occur in any protected area. This species would benefit from emergency in situ and ex situ conservation measures. Monitoring of existing populations is needed and research to better estimate the size of the population.
