Dendrobium begaudii is an endemic orchid of New Caledonia described in 2011 on one and unique collection in Farino. D. begaudii is known only from this locality. D. begaudii was found in humid forest on rock at an altitude of 200 m asl. With only one collection on an extremely vague locality, D. begaudii can not be assess and qualifies as Data Deficient.

Threats
There are no known threats associated with this species.
Conservation
D. begaudii is protected by legislation in Province Nord and Province Sud. D. begaudii does not occur in any protected area. It is highly recommended to conduct field surveys on the type locality to find again D. begaudii.
