Psychotria sp. nov. "ioganö" is an endemic shrub, widespread in Grande Terre from Ouégoa (Tendé) in the north to Port Bouquet in the south of New Caledonia. It occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary and ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 20-1,000 m asl. This species does not seem directly threatened. Psychotria sp. nov. "ioganö" is considered Least Concern (LC).
