Baloghia anisomera is an endemic tree of New Caledonia with a scattered distribution between the south and the central east coast of Grande Terre. It is found in low forest and shrubland on ultramafic up to 550 m asl. The main threats identified are mining activities and uncontrolled bushfires. Known from three locations, its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) are 36 km² and 732 km², respectively. Therefore, B. anisomera is considered Vulnerable VU B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v) with an estimated decline of all the concerned sub-criteria.

Habitat
B. anisomera occurs in low forest and shrubland on ultramafic up to 550 m asl.
Threats
The main threats identified are uncontrolled bushfires and mining activities (CFTMC (SLN), Union Révolution (SLN)).
Conservation
B. anisomera is protected by legislation in Province Nord but it does not occur in any protected areas. This species would benefit from ex situ and in situ emergency conservation actions and also awarness amongs the local population. It is proposed to ensure the follow-up of the only known subpopulation. It is also recommended to inform the DSCGR (emergency services), responsible for the coordination of the firefighting effort, on the presence of the species in the concerned area. Plus prospections at the the ultramafic substrates of the south east coast, from Kouaoua to Yaté are needed are needed to confirm the presence of the species and to better estimate its population size.
