Endangered (EN) , assessed in 31/01/2023Urochloa distachyos is an autochtonous herb of New Caledonia where it is known from three collections : Lifou Wé, La roche Percée (Bourail), Anse Vata. This species occurs on the beach and sandy back beach areas. This species may be impacted by urbanisation along littoral coast areas. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are 11,137 and 14 km², respectively, and the number of locations is estimated to be three. Therefore Urochloa distachyos is listed as Endangered (EN) under criteria B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v), with an continiuing decline estimated of the AOO, habitat quality and number of mature individuals.
