Leichhardtia koniamboensis is an endemic species from New Caledonia with a large and scattered distribution across the Grande Terre. This species occurs in shrubland and low forest on ultramafic substrate between 50 and 1,100 m asl. This species is common and may have a wider range of distribution. Despite having an Area of Occupancy (AOO) and an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) estimated between 152 to 200 and 13,000 and 15,000 km², Leichhardtia koniamboensis does not appear to be threatened at the moment, and is not thought to approach the requirements for listing as threatened. It is listed as Least Concern (LC)

Leichhardtia koniamboensis is endemic to New Caledonia and it has a a large and scattered distribution across the Grande Terre.

Population size is unknown.
Habitat
Leichhardtia koniamboensis occurs in shrubland and low forest on ultramafic substrate between 50 and 1,100 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem to be threatened although some subpopulations may be threatened by bushfires and mining activities at Poum,Plateau,Tiebaghi and Koniambo.
Conservation
Leichhardtia koniamboensis is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does occur in 2 protected areas : Cap N'dua, Vallée de la Thy.
