It is found in humid forest and shrubland at mid and high altitude. The main impact identified comes from invasive species. However, this species does not seem globally threatened thanks to its altitudinal habitat. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) being respectively estimated to 60 and 3,045 km², Weinmannia paitensis is considered Near Threatened (NT) close to VU B1ab(iii)+2ab(iii) with a decline of habitat quality and a number of locations close to 10.
Geographical area

Population
Population size is unknown. It is known from 9-10 subpopulations.
