Parsonsia sp. Balansa 2413 is an endemic new species of New Caledonia. It is known from two subpopualtions (Poro and Bogota) restricted to the south east coast of the main land (Grande Terre). It occurs in low elevation scrubland at approximatively 250 m asl. The main threats are indirectly the mining activities (road construction) at Bogota and uncontrolled bushfires. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated to be 58 km² and 12 km², respectively, while the number of location is estimated to be two. Parsonsia sp. Balansa 2413 is therefore assessed as Endangered (EN) with criteria B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v) with a continuing decline of all the concerned criteria.
