Dendroconche varians is an epiphytic fern growing on tree's trunks, endemic of New Caledonia, where it is widely distributed across Grande Terre, from Nakada in the south to Mandjelia in the northeast. This species is locally common and abondant and it is found in dense humid forest from 600 to 1,000 m asl. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) equal to 1,870 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 32 km², D. varians does not seem threatened and therefore is assessed as Least Concern (LC).

Dendroconche varians is endemic to New Caledonia where it is widely distributed in Grande Terre, from Nakada in the south to Mandjelia in the northeast.

Population


Population size is unknown but field observations indicate the species is common and abundant.

Conservation


Dendroconche varians is not protected by legislation and it does not occur in any protected areas.
