Phyllanthus bourgeoisii is an autochthonous species of New Caledonia up to 0.5-2.5 m high, widely distributed in the Grande Terre. This species is also present in Solomon islands and in Papua New Guinea. This species occurs along the side of water courses up to 500 m asl. It has an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) equal to 5,114 km² and a minimum Area of Occupancy (AOO) of 128 km², but it does not appear to be significantly threatened at the moment. Therefore, Phyllanthus bourgeoisii is assessed as Least Concern (LC).

Population size is unknown.

Habitat


Phyllanthus bourgeoisii occurs in forests along the side of water courses up to 500 m asl.

Threats


This species does not seem to be threatened.

Conservation


Phyllanthus genus is protected by legislation in Province Nord. Phyllanthus bourgeoisii does occur in only one protected area: Mont Panié.
