Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 31/01/2023Urochloa reptans is an autochtonous herb from New Caledonia, where it is mainly distributed in the west coast of Grande Terre. It occurs in various habitats (open forest, cultivated area, disturbed area) and substrates up to 200 m asl. This species is very common and this species does not seem to be threatened. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated at 8,452 and 128 km², respectively. Therefore, Urochloa reptans is listed as Least Concern (LC).

Population size is unknown, but field observations indicate that this species is common.

This species is very common and this species does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
Urochloa reptans is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does occur in two protected areas : Ile Leprédour, Parc zoologique et forestier Michel Corbasson.
