Alyxia dolioliflora is an endemic shrub from New Caledonia, where it is restricted to the northwestern part of Grande Terre, from Poya to Kaala Gomen. It is found in shrubland on serpentine substrate up to 400 m asl. The main identified threats come from mining activities, bushfires, land clearing for a photovoltaic panel installation and increasing urbanisation. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) being respectively estimated to 124 and 1,057 km², Alyxia dolioliflora is considered Near Threatened (NT) close to VU B1ab (ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v) with an estimated decline of all the concerned subcriteria and a number of locations over to be 10.

Alyxia dolioliflora is endemic to New Caledonia where it is restricted to the northwestern part of Grande Terre, from Poya to Kaala Gomen.
Population
Population size is unknown, but field observations indicate that this species is quite common.
Habitat
This species occurs in shrubland on serpentine substrate up to 400 m asl.
Threats
The main identified threats come from mining activities, bushfires, land clearing for a photovoltaic panel installation and increasing urbanisation.
Conservation
Alyxia dolioliflora is unprotected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected areas.
