Cyathopsis floribunda is a shrub endemic to New Caledonia with a scattered distribution in the northwest, center and south of Grande Terre. It is found in scrubland on soils derived from ultramafic substrate from 5 to 1,150 m asl. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) are respectively estimated at 132 and 4,775 km², respectively, and it is known from more than ten locations. Mining activities could be the main threat, but this species is abundant and does not seem threatened at the moment. Therefore, C. floribunda is listed as Near Threatened (NT), close to VU B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v).

C. floribunda is endemic to New Caledonia with a scattered distribution in the northwest, center and south of Grande Terre.
Population
Population size is unknown, but field observations indicate that the species is common, on the same level as C. albicans.

C. floribunda occurs in scrubland on soils derived from ultramafic substrate from 5 to 1,150 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem directly threatened, although some subpopulations may be impacted by actual mining activities at Camp des sapins (SLN) and Koniambo (KNS) and potential impacts of future mining projects at Boulinda.
Conservation
C. floribunda is not protected by any legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected areas. Prospection is recommended in Mé Maoya, Tchingou and Oua-Tilou.
