Description
Pileus: convex becoming planoconvex; 25 - 50 mm diameter; radially fibrillose becoming squamulose; dry; ochre to yellow brown; margin inrolled, not striate.
Stipe: cylindrical, curved; 40 - 80 × 7–15 mm; pruinose to minutely squamulose; dry; concolourous with pileus.
Gills: adnate with a decurrent tooth; moderately distant; bright yellow at first becoming rust brown as the spores mature.
Flesh: yellow, deep yellow.
Spore print: rust brown.
Spores: ellipsoid, pip shaped; 6–8 × 4.5 – 5 µm; distinctly warty.
Notes: this species is recognized by its ochraceous cap colours, bright yellow gills when young, purple stipe attached to a woody substrate and warty spores.
