Description
Pileus: hemispherical becoming planoconvex; 5 - 40 mm diameter; radially fibrillose becoming squamulose; distinctly purplish when young becoming brown to yellow brown at maturity; margin not striate.
Stipe: cylindrical, excentric; 8 - 25 × 4–5 mm; pruinose; dry; concolourous with pileus.
Gills: adnate; crowded; lilac at first becoming ochre brown then rust brown.
Flesh: brown lilac to yellowish brown.
Spore print: rust brown.
Spores: ellipsoid, pip shaped; 4.8–5.6 × 3.6 – 4.2 µm; distinctly warty.
Notes: this species is recognized by its purple colours when young, purple stipe attached to a woody substrate and warty spores.
