Description

Pileus: hemispherical becoming planoconvex or fan shaped; 3 - 25 mm diameter; radially fibrillose; distinctly lilac when young becoming brown to yellow brown at maturity; margin not striate.

Stipe: cylindrical, eccentric to lateral, curved; 4 - 6 × 1–2 mm; pruinose; dry; concolourous with pileus but paler.

Gills: adnate to adnexed; crowded; lilac at first becoming ochre brown then rust brown.

Flesh: brown lilac to yellowish brown.

Spore print: rust brown.

Spores: ellipsoid; 4.5 –5 × 3.5 – 4 µm; distinctly warty.

Notes: this species is recognized by its lilac colours when young, fibrillose cap, lateral attachment to a woody substrate and warty spores. It is more difficult to recognize when mature.
