Pileus: planoconvex with a central depression when mature; 25 - 40 mm diameter; glabrous; brown with yellow at margin; margin striate at edge.

Stipe: cylindrical to slightly tapering; 45- 60 × 4–7 mm; glabrous; brownish yellow.

Gills: subdecurrent; bright lemon yellow; lamellullae in a single series

Flesh: yellowish.

Spore print: white.

Spores:not recorded.

Notes: this Hygrocybe did not readily fit any of the species in Horak or Young.
