Description

Pileus: conical, shallowly convex with an umbo; 20 - 65 mm diameter; fibrillose, rimose, with fibres forming radial bands; pale straw with overlaying brown fibres and brown umbo; margin acute and often split.

Stipe: cylindrical; 30- 60 × 4–10mm; glabrous; white at apex, pale straw below.

Gills: adnexed to adnate; moderately spaced; clay brown with a paler edge.

Flesh: white.

Spore print: brown.

Spores: amygdaliform, bean shaped; 9 – 12 × 5 – 7 µm; smooth.

Notes: this Inocybe has a broad distribution around the world and could possibly be introduced. Sequencing will determine if it is identical to the Northern Hemisphere species.
