Description
Pileus: convex to plano-convex; 5 -30 mm diameter; glabrous, innately striate; pink to pinkish brown; margin slightly sulcate.
Stipe: cylindrical, hollow; 25 - 60 × 1.5 - 3.5 mm; glabrous; reddish brown.
Gills: adnate to subdecurrent; moderately distant; flesh pink; with lamellulae in two series.
Spore print: white.
Spores: subglobose; 8.5 – 11.5 µm, echinulate.
Notes: this Laccaria is not easy to recognize in the field and has several colour forms. The combination of the flesh pink gills and glabrous stipe are good clues to its identity. This species is also present in New Zealand.
