Description
Pileus: convex; 30 – 60 mm diameter; glabrous; greyish-brown, pale sepia, (5D4); margin inrolled at first and sulcate.
Gills: subdecurrent; arcuate; distant; lamellulae intercalated in two series (but irregular so that some of the short lamellulae are missing); about 16 – 20 reach stipe.
Stipe: cylindrical; 30 – 50 × 5 – 12 mm; glabrous; concolorous with cap at apex, fading to almost white at base.
Milk: watery white.
Spores: white, subglobose, 7.1 – 9.1 × 6.6 – 8.1, Q = 1.09 ± 0.06; with prominent amyloid ridges forming an almost complete reticulum.
Notes: much paler greyish brown than L. sepiaceus.
