Cap: convex to applanate; 8–15mm diameter; velutinate, matt, rugulose (wrinkled);burnt orange; margin eroded.

Stipe: cylindrical; 20 – 45 × 3–5 mm; glabrous; dark brown to black; attached to substrate by a white mycelial disc.
