Description

Cap: campanulate; 10– 20mm diameter; glabrous, viscid; white with a yellow brown centre; transluscent striate with grey brown stripes following the lamellae; margin sulcate.

Stipe: cylindrical, caespitose; 15 - 35 × 1 - 2 mm; glabrous, glutinous; dark yellow brown at the base fading to hyaline white at apex.

Gills: adnate to decurrent, arcuate; white; lamellulae in two series.

Flesh: thin, white.

Spore print: white.

Notes: this Mycena is characterized by its caespitose habit, viscid cap and glutinous stipe. It is very close to M. austrororida and to Maas & Horak’s M. tephrina described from New Guinea. Microscopic and other details will be needed to make a firm determination.
