Description
Cap: conical; 25-50 mm diameter; glabrous, viscid when wet; yellowish brown; margin inrolled.
Stipe: tapering; 100 - 180 × 5–8 mm; glabrous; reddish brown, pale at apex, darkening downwards.
Gills: adnate to free; red brown at maturity.
Spore print: rusty brown.
Spores: ellipsoid; verrucose.
Notes: this Phaeocollybia is characterized by its very long rooting stipe and yellow brown cap. It is close to P. longipes, but the cap resembles that of P. ratticauda. Further microscopic details are needed before its identity can be confirmed.
