Description
Cap: plano-convex; 40-60 mm diameter; dry, minutely tomentose, cracking; mid to dark brown; margin entire.
Stipe: cylindrical, distinctly tapering; 40 – 60 × 8 – 12 mm; fibrillose streaky; ochre to yellow at apex, date brown below, white at the base.
Gills: subdecurrent; lemon yellow; bruising dark green then slowly browning.
Flesh: white, turning green in cap on exposure to air
Spore print: honey brown.

Notes: this medium sized Phylloporus has a brown cap, lemon yellow subdecurrent gills and a brown stipe with a white base. It exhibits strong green staining of the gills. More information is needed to reach a conclusion on whether this is a known or new species.
