Description

Fruiting body: semicircular, fan shaped; 20 - 60 mm diameter by 1 - 2 mm thick; broadly attached; gelatinous; margin lobed.

Upper surface: tomentose, like cotton wool;  white, pale blueish grey to pale fawn.

Lower surface (hymenium): covered in whitish spines, hydnoid; spines 2 - 5 mm long.

Spores: subglobose; 5 - 7 × 5 - 6 µm.

Notes: this species is characterised by its gelatinous fruiting bodies with white spines on the lower surface.
