Cap: convex; 30-50 mm diameter; velutinate; red with a whitish bloom; margin entire.

Stipe: cylindrical; 40 - 50 × 4–5 mm; minutely velutinate; pinkish red, much paler than cap.

Gills: adnexed; moderately crowded; white; lamellulae absent.
