Description
Pileus: ovoid, secotoid, base excavated; 20 – 40mm diameter, 30 – 60 mm tall; glabrous; azure, becoming pale green.
Stipe: cylindrical, tapering; 30 - 50× 5–12 mm; pubescent; white.
Gleba: cellular; rusty to dark brown.
Flesh: soft, spongy.

Notes: This fungus is recognised azure (pale blue) secotoid cap and white stipe. It appears to differ slightly from the New Zealand species description which describes a glabrous stem with yellow colouration at the base.
