Description
Pileus: conchiform or reniform; up to 4 - 8 mm diameter; strigose in the centre but almost glabrous at the margin; golden yellow aging to pale brown.
Stipe: rudimentary or absent; 2 × 1 mm; eccentric or lateral; golden yellow; smooth.
Gills:radiating from the point of attachment; golden yellow; lamellulae present in two intercalated series.
Flesh: yellow; tough but not gelatinous.
Spore print: dark brown.
Spores: subglobose; 6 – 7 µm; covered in small warts, thick walled.
Notes: this Crepidotus is characterized by its golden yellow colours, less easy to distinguish in old specimens that have turned brown, but the golden yellow colour is usually retained in the gills. Separated from C. hirsutellus by its shorter and less dense hairs.
