Description

Pileus: conchiform or reniform; up to 5 - 20 mm diameter; strigose hairs cover the cap; white at first becoming brown with age.

Stipe: rudimentary or absent.

Gills: radiating from the point of attachment; white becoming brown as the spores mature; lamellulae present in two intercalated series.

Flesh: white; tough but not gelatinous.

Spore print: dark brown.                       

Spores: ellipsoid; 6.5 –9.5× 2.5 – 3.5 µm; covered in small spiny warts, thick walled.

Notes: this Crepidotus is characterized by its white colours. It is a European species described by Quelet from the Jura and unlikely to be present in New Caledonia.
