Description
Pileus: conchiform or reniform; up to 10 mm diameter; densely covered in strigose hairs up to 3 mm long;whitish to pale brown.
Stipe: rudimentary or absent; lateral if present;1 × 0.5 mm;pale brown; smooth.
Gills: radiating from the point of attachment; deep yellow turning to pale yellow then yellow brown; lamellulae.
Flesh: pale brown; tough but not gelatinous.
Spore print: dark brown.
Spores: subglobose; 5 – 7.5 µm; covered in small warts, thick walled.
Notes: this Crepidotus is characterized by its pale brown colours, less easy to distinguish from old specimens of C. aureus that have turned brown, but the golden yellow colour of that species usually retained in the gills.
