Description

Pileus: conical; 25 – 60 mm diameter;  minutely fibrillose with squamulose  centre; dry; zoned with pale and dark grey brown to red brown bands; margin striate.

Stipe: cylindrical; 40 – 80 × 2 – 6 mm; fibrillose; grey to red brown overlain with white fibres.

Gills: free; beige, turning pink, edge concolorous.

Flesh: brown, brittle.

Spore print: pink.                       

Spores: angular; 5 – 6 sided; 9.5 – 12 × 6.5 – 8 µm.

Notes: this Entoloma is recognized by its striate grey brown cap and its brittle flesh.
