Description
Cap: centrally depressed, more or less circular; 40 - 85 mm diameter; upper surface strongly zonate; glabrous shiny; zoned with cream and orange brown colours;margin acute.
Stipe: cylindrical, cntral or eccentric, widening at apex and base; 10 – 40× 2 – 8 mm, tomentose or glabrous; orange brown colours with a distinctly yellow basal attachment.
Pores: decurrent; cream to pale yellow; rounded, regular, 8 – 10 per mm.
Flesh: hard, white to cream.
Smell: none.
Spore print: hyaline.

Notes: This fungus is recognized by its pileate, zoned centrally depressed fruiting body with very small (8 – 10 per mm) pores which are white or yellowish and a swollen yellow base to the stem.
