Pileus: convex to centrally depressed; 30 – 80 mm diameter; velutinate to glabrous; cream to pale buff; margin inrolled at first then entire, sometimes lobed. Stipe: cylindrical, central; 10 - 40 ×2 - 10 mm; white to pale yellow or pale ochraceous. Spines: adnexed to subdecurrent; crowded; about 15% offset from vertical; tapering, 3 – 4 mm long; cream to pale ochraceous with a pink tinge Spore print: white. Spores: Notes: this fungus is recognised by its cream to pale ochraceous colours and spines that are offset from the vertical, cream pale pinkish ochraceous.
