Description
Pileus: convex with a central depression; 30 - 40 mm diameter; matt, velutinous; white with an ochraceous to orange tinge in the centre; margin inrolled at least when young.
Stipe: cylindrical; 25 - 30 × 10 - 12 mm; matt; white with occasional ochraceous stains near the base.
Gills: subdecurrent; crowded, shallow; white to cream.
Flesh: white, unchanging.
Milk: white, mild tasting.
Spores: no data.
Notes: The only white Lactarius reported so far in New Caledonia
Support
Growing in dry sclerophyll forest with Melaleuca quinquinervia and Acacia spirorbis.
