Description

Pileus: ovoid, globose, secotoid; 30 – 60mm diameter; glabrous, irregular dimpled surface with depressions and nodules; scarlet, red.

Stipe: cylindrical, tapering, hollow; 30 - 100× 3–10 mm; glabrous; white to yellowish.

Gleba: cellular; rusty to dark brown.

Flesh: soft, spongy.

Notes: this fungus is recognised scarlet secotoid cap and white stipe.
