Description

Pileus: campanulate becoming planoconvex;20 –25 mm diameter; glabrous; white; margin plicate.

Stipe:cylindrical; 40 –100× 0.5 –1.5 mm; glabrous, pale tomentose at base; dark brown, paler at apex, darker almost black at base.

Gills: adnexed to almost free; distant, narrow; white.

Flesh: thin; white.

Smell: not recorded.

Spore print: white.

Spores: not recorded, Horak says they are up to 26.5 µm long!.

Notes: this tall white fungus grows in clusters (occasionally solitary) in litter, the very tall stipe and narrow distant gills appear to be its distinguishing characters. There are no recent records.
